How the three configurations work

With the PowerUnit low on the wand, the floorhead carries more of the motor unit’s weight. With it at the top, the lower assembly can reach farther under furniture. Remove the long wand for compact handheld work. The self-standing pause position is for the PowerUnit-at-bottom configuration on a level surface; it should not be used with the motor unit high on the wand.

Press the power button to start at EC, then select LO or HI if needed. Boost supplies a short 10-second increase, followed by a 5-second cooling interval before it can be selected again. Floor detection adjusts the electrobrush’s power to the floor and roller; it is separate from your selected suction level.

Use the compact electric brush directly on the PowerUnit for suitable upholstery and stairs. Check the textile’s care instructions first; a rotating brush is not appropriate for every fabric.

Runtime and charging in context

Miele’s per-battery maxima are up to 70 minutes on low with the PowerUnit alone, 38 minutes on low with an electrical accessory, and 15 minutes on high with an electrical accessory. These are different test configurations. Floor resistance, power level, filter condition and battery age affect usable time.

The battery can be charged on or off the vacuum, using the supplied charger and suitable mount position. For initial activation, the manual requires the battery to be in the PowerUnit for its first charge. Use the charge indicator to plan the next session. A second battery is a separate accessory.

Emptying, filters and roller care

Run the ComfortClean filter-cleaning rotation before opening the bin, then empty before the MAX mark. For a deeper clean, remove the filters before washing the detached dust container with mild dish soap and water, and dry the container fully before reassembly. The fine-dust filter and prefilter must stay dry; do not rinse or scrub the fine-dust filter.

The replaceable fine-dust filter is HX-FSF-2. The manual calls for a thorough dry filter clean at least every three months and replacement of the fine-dust filter after approximately three years. “Lifetime” in the supplied exhaust-filter name does not remove this separate fine-filter maintenance. Switch off and detach a powered brush before removing hair from its roller or cleaning the head.
