The 6390SR Shag Rake is a friction-fit, rake-style tool for suitable deep-pile rugs. It connects through the 1766ST adapter, which is required.
Start with the rug
Read the care instructions for your rug first. The rake is an option only where the rug maker permits this cleaning method. A rake shape alone does not make a tool suitable for every delicate rug.
Connecting it
Use the 1766ST. The rake will not fit without it, so order the adapter too if you do not have one. SEBO calls the rake's connection friction fit; pair it with the adapter and check that it matches your handle before you begin.
