Description

A 30 ft central vacuum hose that takes power from a wall outlet

The Plastiflex ValueFlex 30 ft dual-voltage pigtail hose (part CV-4W3530FPWS-PIGTAIL) is the replacement for central vacuum systems with plain suction inlets and an electrical outlet nearby. It connects to the house in 2 places: suction at the inlet, and power through a short corded pigtail plugged into the outlet. That power lets it run an electric powerhead through a compatible wand.

Quick test: if your old hose had a little cord dangling near the inlet end, you're shopping in the right aisle.

What you get with this hose

  • Powerhead capability. The dual-voltage construction carries the current an electric powerhead needs, when paired with a compatible wand and head.
  • Your inlets stay as they are. Power comes from an ordinary outlet, so an older system keeps its existing unpowered inlets with no rewiring.
  • A length most rooms like. From a hallway inlet, 30 feet covers most rooms without leaving a pile of spare hose underfoot.
  • ValueFlex build. Plastiflex's workaday hose, made to take years of being dragged from room to room.

From our service bench: when pigtail hoses finally give out, it's usually at the handle or the cuff, after a decade of honest yanking. The wiring inside is the reason this hose costs more than a suction-only one, and the reason your powerhead brush spins.

When to choose a different hose

  • Metal contacts inside the inlet door? That's a direct-connect system, which takes the direct-connect version of this hose.
  • No electric powerhead? For straight suction or turbine tools, a low-voltage hose costs meaningfully less and does that job fine.
  • Old hose measures 35 feet? Buy the length you had: the 35 ft pigtail ValueFlex is 5 feet longer.

Questions customers ask us

Pigtail or direct-connect: how can I tell?

Open a wall inlet and look. A plain suction port, plus an old hose that plugged a short cord into a nearby outlet, means pigtail. Metal contacts in the inlet and prongs on the old hose end mean direct-connect. They are not interchangeable.

Will this run my electric powerhead?

Yes, with a compatible wand and powerhead. The dual-voltage hose carries both the control side and the current the brush motor needs.

My power unit is a different brand. Does that matter?

The style of wall connection matters more than the name on the power unit. Match the inlet type and the length, and send us photos if anything looks unusual.

Is 30 feet long enough?

For most inlet layouts, yes. If your old 30 footer was always pulled to full stretch, step up to the 35.
