Straight suction, no powerhead wiring to pay for
The Plastiflex ValueFlex 30 ft low-voltage central vacuum hose (part CV-2W3030-30-LOW-VOLT) is for systems that clean with straight suction and air-driven tools. It plugs into a low-voltage wall inlet and does not support an electric powerhead. Leaving out those conductors is exactly why it costs meaningfully less than the dual-voltage hoses beside it on the shelf.
If your home is mostly hardwood, tile or low pile, you probably won't miss what this hose leaves out.

A word of caution from the bench
The most common mistake with this hose is an optimistic one: buying low-voltage today, then deciding on an electric powerhead next year. If carpet is anywhere in your five-year plan, buy dual-voltage once instead of buying 2 hoses.
Skip this hose if
- You run, or plan to run, an electric powerhead. This hose can't feed one; a dual-voltage hose such as the 30 ft pigtail ValueFlex can.
- Your inlets are the powered direct-connect type, or your old hose used a pigtail cord. Those are different wall connections.
- Deep carpet covers most of the house. Straight suction alone won't groom it.
- Your rooms need more than 30 feet. The 35 ft ValueFlex hoses add 5 feet of reach.

Will my turbine brush still work?
Yes. Air-driven turbine tools run on suction alone, and this hose supplies it in full. Only electric powerheads need the dual-voltage wiring that this hose omits.
How can I be sure my inlets are low-voltage?
No metal power contacts in the inlet, no prongs on the old hose end and no pigtail cord. If nothing electrical connected at the wall, this is your hose family.
Is the lower-priced hose lower quality?
No. It's the same ValueFlex construction without the powerhead conductors. You're paying for less copper, not less hose.
