Miele’s current U.S. Guard M1 family has three models built on the same 1,200-watt bagged canister platform. The real choice is not suction power—it is which floor tools and filter package match your home.

The 30-second choice
The base Guard M1 Terra Red is the simplest all-purpose model. Its SBD 365-3 AllTeQ combination floorhead switches between hard floors and low-pile carpet, and its standard AirClean filter handles everyday filtration.
The Guard M1 Parquet XL keeps that AllTeQ head and adds the extra-wide SBB 400-3 Parquet Twister XL plus an AirClean Plus filter. It is the specialist for large hardwood, tile and other delicate hard-floor areas.
The Guard M1 Cat & Dog adds the air-driven STB 305-3 TurboTeQ for animal hair and short-pile carpet, plus an Active AirClean filter that helps neutralize odors. It is not an electric-powerhead machine for deep or heavy carpeting.

Base M1: The AllTeQ combination head is the straightforward fit for mixed hard flooring, area rugs and low-pile carpet.
Mostly hardwood or tile
Parquet XL: The wide Parquet Twister XL covers large hard-floor areas efficiently while remaining gentle on delicate surfaces.
Pets plus short-pile carpet
Cat & Dog: The TurboTeQ’s airflow-driven brush helps lift hair from rugs and short-pile carpeting; Active AirClean addresses pet odors.
Filters, bags and pet odors
Every Guard M1 uses Miele’s HyClean Pure CO bag with a 4.8-quart capacity, automatic positioning and a bag-change indicator. The difference is the exhaust filter installed from the factory.
The important carpet limitation
None of the current U.S. Guard M1 models includes an electric powerhead. The base and Parquet XL rely on the combination AllTeQ head. The Cat & Dog adds an air-driven TurboTeQ, which Miele positions for animal hair and short-pile carpet.
What Avon Vacuums currently lists
Avon’s active Guard M1 catalog currently includes the Terra Red base model and Obsidian Black Cat & Dog. The Brilliant White Parquet XL is a current Miele USA model, but its earlier Avon product listing was removed and has not been reintroduced here.
