The activated-carbon inlay is not included in the standard AP140 PRO package. A replacement cartridge is also a future consumable, rather than an extra spare filter supplied with the unit.

Room size and placement

The U.S. specification sheet recommends the AP140 PRO for rooms up to 1,400 square feet using an 8.2-foot ceiling and four air exchanges per hour as its sizing assumptions. Treat that as a room-planning guide: ceiling height, partitions, open doors and the selected fan setting affect the volume of air treated. Quiet mode moves less air than higher settings.

Place the purifier on a stable floor with at least about four inches of clearance from walls and furniture, keeping the intake and outlet unobstructed. Remove the protective packaging from the cartridge before first operation. Position it where air can circulate through the room, rather than behind a sofa or inside an enclosed cabinet.

At 112.5 pounds, this is a unit to position carefully on its casters. Lock the two braked wheels after positioning and plan the route between rooms before moving it.

Operating modes and controls

The power button switches the purifier on and off. Use the fan button to select Auto or manual speeds 1, 2 and 3, with Turbo available for a manually selected high setting. Auto responds to the air-quality sensors; it does not automatically select Turbo. The three-color indicator shows the sensor’s assessment of room air.

Quiet mode uses the lowest fan setting and reduces the display lighting. The timer can run for 1, 2, 4 or 8 hours: setting it while the purifier is running schedules a stop, while setting it with the purifier off schedules a start. The infrared remote lets you operate the unit from the room without reaching its top panel.

The optional IDEAL Air PRO app provides additional settings and requires a constant 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection. Onboard controls and the remote remain available without using the app. A control lock helps prevent unintended changes to the selected settings.

Filters and routine care

Use the replacement 360-degree cartridge specifically listed for the IDEAL AP140 PRO. The standard replacement cartridge contains the prefilter and HEPA medium; add the separate activated-carbon inlay only when that additional filtration is wanted. The purifier automatically detects a new original IDEAL cartridge and resets the replacement indication when it is correctly installed.

A red F indicator signals a filter change. Unplug before opening the front cover and removing the cartridge. Vacuum accumulated dust from the prefilter and clean the housing gently; do not wash the filter cartridge or use harsh cleaning solvents. Keep the sensor openings clear as directed in the instructions.

The filter is accessed through the front door. Use the recessed grips and turn the cartridge counterclockwise to release it, supporting its weight as it comes out. Remove the new cartridge’s protective wrap, engage its locking tabs and turn it clockwise into position before closing the door.

IDEAL gives approximately 12 months as a typical cartridge interval, depending on operating time and the amount of material collected. The filter indication and actual condition matter more than a fixed calendar promise. Keep a record of the fitted cartridge and replacement date for ongoing maintenance.

U.S. warranty

IDEAL's U.S. distributor, MBM Corporation, covers the AP140 PRO with a 2-year limited warranty for the original purchaser. Wearable items, including filters, the remote control and touch buttons, are not covered. Keep your proof of purchase and the model information for service and filter orders.
