The IDEAL AP40 Pro is the small room's answer: rated for 400 square feet at four air changes an hour under an 8.2-foot ceiling, moving 258 CFM through a 360-degree multi-layer HEPA and activated-carbon filter. It is 15.6 inches tall, runs as low as 16.7 dB on night mode, and is controlled from the top panel or the IDEAL AIR PRO app. We sell it because customers who bought a good vacuum kept asking what to do about the air.

Why we like it
- At 16.7 dB on its lowest setting it is quieter than the house settling. You will not hear it in a bedroom.

Think twice if
- The room is an open-plan living and dining area. That is 800 square feet or more, and the AP80 Pro is the right size.
- You want whole-floor coverage. Look at the AP140 Pro with casters, or put an AP40 in each bedroom.
- You have no 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and want the app features. The buttons on the unit work without it, but scheduling and remote control do not.

Factory-sealed, unused units may be returned within 30 days with the buyer paying return shipping; an opened unit with a problem is handled through the manufacturer warranty with our help.

What does 400 square feet at 4 air changes mean?
In a 400-square-foot room with an 8.2-foot ceiling, the unit moves the full volume of air through the filter four times an hour. In a smaller room it does it more often; in a bigger room, less.
How loud is it?
16.7 dB at the lowest setting, up to 61.7 dB on turbo. Night mode is the setting for sleeping; turbo is for clearing the room after cooking.
What is in the filter?
A 360-degree multi-layer HEPA filter with activated carbon in one cartridge. The HEPA layers handle dust and pollen; the carbon handles odors.
Does it need the app?
No. Auto, speed levels, turbo, night mode, timer and child lock are all on the unit. The IDEAL AIR PRO app adds remote control and needs a constant 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection.
