For people whose mess is mostly off the floor, Miele packages the Duoflex HX1 as the Total Care. To the 7-pound cordless with its self-adjusting MultiFloor electrobrush, two power levels, Hygiene filters and 2500 mAh battery, Miele adds a flexible suction hose, a flexible long crevice nozzle, a motor-driven Electro Compact brush and a flexible universal brush, alongside the standard dust brush, XL upholstery nozzle and crevice nozzle, with the SpeedLock wall arrangement. It is the full spice rack: you will use six jars every week and be quietly glad the other dozen are there when the recipe calls for them.

Why we like it
- The Electro Compact brush has its own motor, which turns the Duoflex into a real upholstery and stair tool rather than a stick with a nozzle on the end.
- A flexible suction hose lets the power unit sit on the floor while you clean a car footwell or the top of a bookcase, with none of the weight in your hand.
- The long flexible crevice nozzle reaches under a range, behind a dryer and down the side of a car seat, which is where everything that falls ends up.
- SpeedLock keeps the whole thing on the wall, one-handed, so the tool you need is also the tool that is out.
Think twice if
- You only ever vacuum floors. The base Duoflex HX1 has the same motor, battery and floorhead without the accessory kit, and the Extra adds just the wall mount and universal brush.
- You need runtime more than tools. The Triflex HX2 Pro ships with two batteries and a charging tray; the Duoflex has one battery and does not list it as exchangeable.
- You have carpet and a large dog. That is a canister conversation, and the Classic C1 Cat & Dog with the SEB 228 electrobrush is where it starts.

Orders of $75 and over ship free within the contiguous United States, and most leave in 2 to 3 business days. We take returns within 30 days on factory-sealed, unused machines, with the buyer paying return shipping. A used machine with a fault is handled through Miele's warranty, and we manage that process alongside you.
Questions customers ask us
What does the Electro Compact brush do that the upholstery nozzle does not?
It has a motor-driven brush roll. The XL upholstery nozzle relies on suction; the compact brush agitates the fabric and lifts hair and grit out of it. Stairs, sofas and car seats are its jobs.
How does the flexible hose attach?
Between the power unit and the tool, so the vacuum can rest on the floor or a step while the hose and a nozzle go where your hand goes. It is the attachment that makes the Duoflex a proper car vacuum.
What is the runtime with the hand tools?
Miele publishes 55 minutes on low with the PowerUnit alone. Suction-only tools on the hose run close to that; the motor-driven compact brush shortens it. Charging takes about 210 minutes.
Is this the same vacuum as the Duoflex HX1 Extra?
Same 7-pound machine, same floorhead, same SpeedLock mount and universal brush. Total Care adds the hose, the long flexible crevice nozzle and the Electro Compact brush.
