SEBO Essential G5 Bagged Upright Vacuum – 15-Inch Head

Fifteen inches of head, four manual heights and a fixed suction setting: the Essential G5 is the wide version of SEBO’s straightforward carpet upright. Its cleaning path is 13.25 inches, with edge cleaning on one side, and the matte housing is scratch- and scuff-resistant.

Is 15 inches too wide for your rooms?

Answer that with a tape measure, not a guess. Check the gaps between the chairs, table legs and sofas you vacuum around most, and the clearance through the doors between rooms. If the 15-inch head fits comfortably, the G5 saves passes in open carpet. If it feels tight, the 12-inch G4 is the same machine in a narrower head.

Compared with the 15-inch X8, the G5 leaves height to you and has a slightly narrower path, 13.25 inches against 14.5. The trade is that you set the height yourself.

Setting up your routine

1. Pick a brush height to match the carpet. If the red “check brush” light stays on, the height may be too high or the roller worn.
2. Use the intermediate handle stop for rugs, and lower the handle flat for under beds.
3. Pull the wand or hose out for corners; the two reach 8 feet together.
4. When the red “bag full or clog” light comes on, the machine shuts off after 60 seconds, so stop and look for a clog.

Supplies

Use 5093AM bags, eight to a box; the 1.4-gallon bag has a hygiene cap, which you close before removing it. The airflow light can come on early for a clog or fine dust. Use each bag once and replace filters instead of washing them. The roller pulls out without tools, and the table lists a HEPA filter option if that matters to you.

Storage and stairs

A nine-foot extension hose is optional and stretches the hose to 15 feet. Keep the upright supported on the steps. At 17.1 lb, it stores standing, cord on its rotating hook.

Warranty

10 years on motors, 10 years on non-wear parts, 7 years on labor: that is the household bonus on a G5 registered with SEBO under our dealer code. SEBO’s regular terms for the G5 are 7 years on motors and 5 on non-wear parts and labor. File the G5 certificate with your receipt. Wear items, routine maintenance and commercial use are excluded from the G5 bonus.

No. Height is set by hand in four steps.
