Plush carpet is to a vacuum what a deep driveway is to a shovel: you can do it by hand, but the machine with an auger does it better. The Titan T9500 Premium is a bagged canister built for that carpet, with a 14-inch powered nozzle that has four height settings and brush on/off control, a 12-amp motor, a 28-foot retractable cord, an 8-foot hose, HEPA filtration, a bag indicator and LED lighting on the wand. It also includes onboard tools and a pet tool, and it is listed for bare floors as well as plush carpet. It weighs 26 pounds, which is the price of a real nozzle and a long cord.

Why we like it
- Four height settings on a 14-inch powered nozzle let the brush reach the base of deep pile instead of skating on top of it.
- Twenty-eight feet of retractable cord plus an 8-foot hose is 36 feet of reach from one outlet, which covers most floors.
- Brush on/off control means the same nozzle does the hallway carpet and the kitchen tile without changing heads.
- LED wand lighting is a small thing until you are under a bed, and the pet tool earns its keep on a couch the dog is not supposed to be on.
Think twice if
- Your home is mostly bare floor with a few low rugs. The T1400 at 9 pounds or the T9400 will serve you better and cost less.
- You carry the canister up and down stairs regularly. Twenty-six pounds is the heaviest Titan canister we carry; the T9400 is 23 and the T1400 is 9.
- You want bagless. The T8000 is the bagless Titan canister with a powered nozzle.

Factory-sealed, unused machines may be returned within 30 days with the buyer paying return shipping; once opened, a problem is covered through the manufacturer warranty with our help.

Why four height settings?
Carpet pile varies, and a powered brush set too low on plush carpet bogs down and wears the belt. Four settings let you match the brush to the carpet in each room.
Can it clean hard floors?
Yes. The brushroll switches off, and the machine is listed for bare floors as well as plush carpet.
How much reach does it have?
A 28-foot retractable cord and an 8-foot hose. On most floor plans that is one outlet per floor.
What is the pet tool?
A listed accessory in the onboard tool set for pulling hair off upholstery and stairs, where the big nozzle cannot go.
