Description

The Miele Classic C1 Cat & Dog combines an electric carpet head, a separate parquet brush and a compact air-driven upholstery brush. The full-size motorized head makes this a different carpet-cleaning package from the Classic C1 Turbo Team or Pure Suction.

Floor fit and controls

The SEB 228 has five manual height settings. Choose a position that lets it move comfortably over the carpet, then adjust suction separately at the canister. Its motor turns the brush independently of suction airflow. Change to the separate hard-floor tool when the surface calls for straight suction.

Turn the canister dial to the appropriate surface symbol. Lower suction helps a tool release from curtains, cushions or a rug; maximum suction is not always the easiest setting to push. The small tools fit the hose handle or wand. The three-point caster layout follows your route, and a compatible suction head parks on the body during a pause. Rewind the cord with the foot control while guiding the plug.

Bags, filtration and upkeep

Use genuine Miele GN bags. Change the bag when the indicator calls for it, checking for a blocked tool or hose if the indicator rises with a lightly filled bag. Fine dust can restrict a bag before it looks full. Do not empty and reuse a disposable bag or operate the vacuum without its motor-protection and exhaust filters.

The exact U.S. package list identifies an AirClean exhaust filter. A compatible SF-HA 30 HEPA AirClean filter is an optional replacement, not supplied HEPA filtration.

Classic C1 takes the 30-size exhaust-filter family; GN bag bundles containing an SF-HA 50 filter are not a complete filter match even though the GN bags fit. Replace the flat AirClean and motor-protection filters as directed with the bag pack; follow the time indicator or annual schedule for a fitted HEPA cartridge. Unplug before checking a blocked air path or removing hair from a brush.

Warranty and service

Miele’s current U.S. limited warranty lists 1 year for this household model, subject to its terms. Keep the purchase receipt for a claim. Routine maintenance and normal wear are excluded; commercial use has separate terms.
