Controls and everyday cleaning
The upper handle button switches the vacuum on at low power. The lower button selects the higher suction level; press again to return to low. The MultiFloor head adjusts roller speed to the type of floor, while the suction level remains your separate selection.
Detach the wand to use the PowerUnit and small tools on furniture or stairs. The crevice nozzle reaches folds and narrow gaps, the upholstery nozzle covers fabric surfaces, and the dust brush handles suitable furniture details. The wand accessory holder carries two of the three small tools.
The floorhead is intended for compatible carpet, rugs and hard floors. Check the floor maker’s care instructions, especially for delicate rugs or scratch-sensitive finishes, and remove trapped grit from the underside before use. Lift the whole vacuum upward out of the standard wall bracket, then release the wand if you want the handheld configuration.
Charging and battery ownership
The 55-minute claim is for low-power handheld operation without the floorhead. The manual’s fully assembled example is about 17 minutes, and actual time varies with power setting, flooring and filter condition. Charge through the socket at the rear of the PowerUnit, directly or in the supplied wall bracket, near an outlet.
The Duoflex battery is replaceable through its battery compartment using the manual’s procedure. It is not the externally clipped battery-swap arrangement used by Triflex. Match the AP10/AP11 battery version to the vacuum when replacement is needed; the manual identifies the HX-LA 20/HX-LA 21 families.
Bin, filters and roller care
Turn the ComfortClean cap through three half-turns before emptying or when suction drops. Hold the bin close to the waste container and open its bottom flap before the MAX mark is reached. Clean the bin and prefilter with the supplied cleaning tool or a dry cloth; do not rinse the prefilter.
The fine-dust filter is HX-FDF 20. Remove it for a thorough dry clean at least every three months, tapping the lower edge gently as directed. Do not wash or brush it. Miele recommends replacing it after approximately three years. Switch off and detach the floorhead before cutting wrapped threads or removing its roller for cleaning.
Warranty and service
Miele’s current U.S. limited warranty lists 2 years for this household model, subject to its terms. Keep the purchase receipt for a claim. Routine maintenance and normal wear are excluded; commercial use has separate terms.
