Description
The Miele Guard M1 AllFloor (material number 13138420) is a new Brilliant White bagged canister for homes with a mix of hard floors and rugs. It comes with two suction floorheads, an SBD 380-3 AllFloor head for everyday cleaning and an SBB 300-3 Parquet Twister for delicate hard floors, plus an AirClean exhaust filter and a 36-foot cleaning radius.
AllFloor or Cat & Dog?
Both are Guard M1 bagged canisters with the same body, the same CO bags and the same 36-foot reach, and neither has an electric powerhead. The AllFloor is the all-round package for hard floors and low rugs. The Guard M1 Cat & Dog has an air-driven TurboTeQ brush for pet hair on rugs and an Active AirClean filter for odors.
What comes in the box
- SBD 380-3 AllFloor floorhead: a flat, agile suction head that Miele designs for all floor types. It is also sold on its own as the SBD 380-3.
- SBB 300-3 Parquet Twister: a swiveling hard-floor brush for gentle cleaning of parquet and other delicate floors. Spare: SBB 300-3.
- Three tools on board: upholstery nozzle, crevice nozzle and dusting brush, stored in the body.
- HES mid-size telescopic wand that adjusts to your height.
- AirClean exhaust filter and motor protection filter, plus one HyClean CO FilterBag to start.
The MODE button sets the suction level, and illuminated LED icons show the setting. Foot switches turn it on and off and rewind the whole cord with one tap. Miele also lists a FilterBag change indicator, automatic FilterBag positioning, a locking system for the floorhead and handle, furniture protection, floor-friendly caster wheels and a park system for vacuuming breaks.

Bags and filters
Use genuine CO bags: the HyClean Air CO 4-pack or the CO XL pack of 8. Seat each bag collar securely and change the bag when the indicator says so; do not empty and reuse a bag. Each bag box includes a filter to fit when you open it.
For the exhaust filter, Miele lists the SF-HA 50-1 HEPA AirClean and the SF-AA 50-1 Active AirClean (with charcoal, for odors) as matching filters for this model, and the SF-AP 50-1 AirClean Plus is also made for the Guard M1. Follow the manual when you change it.
Warranty and lifespan testing
Miele currently lists a 3-year US household limited warranty for this model, subject to its terms. Keep your receipt. Normal wear and routine maintenance are excluded; commercial use has different coverage.
Miele says it ran Guard models and their core components for 750 hours at various power levels during development, which equals 20 years at 37.5 hours a year. That is a test result, not a promise of a 20-year lifespan.
