Built like a cast-iron radiator: heavy, plain and hard to kill
Commercial uprights ought to have the virtues of a cast-iron radiator, heavy, unglamorous and still working when the building changes hands, and the Titan TC6000.2 does. The brushroll, bottom plate, handle and cord hook are metal-reinforced, the pivot point is metal, and the bumper is riveted on. It runs a 10-amp motor across a 14-inch cleaning path on a 40-foot cord, with HEPA filtration, a telescopic metal wand, onboard tools, a suction-relief valve and a thermal reset button. It weighs 21 pounds and is not sorry about it.

Why we like it
- A 40-foot cord means a corridor or a church hall gets done from one outlet, and the metal cord hook will not snap off in year two.
- Metal where commercial machines break: brushroll, bottom plate, handle and pivot. These are the parts we replace on plastic machines.
- The thermal reset button is a sign someone expected the machine to be run hard. When it overheats from a clog, you clear the clog and press the button instead of buying a motor.
- Fourteen inches of path at 10 amps is efficient for large floors without tripping the breaker in an old building.
Think twice if
- You want a light machine for a single-story home. Twenty-one pounds is commercial weight; the T3600 or T500 will suit you better.
- Your floors are mostly hard surfaces. A canister with a powered nozzle, like the T9400, is easier on bare floors than a commercial carpet upright.
- You need a machine that switches brushroll off for bare floors. The TC6000.2 is a carpet machine first; the T4000.2 has a carpet and floor selector.

What is reinforced on the TC6000.2?
The brushroll, bottom plate, handle and cord hook are metal-reinforced, the pivot point is metal, and the bumper is riveted. Those are the failure points on lighter uprights.
What does the suction-relief valve do?
It bleeds air into the system so the head does not seal itself to a throw rug or a drape. You open it for rugs and upholstery and close it for carpet.
Why a 40-foot cord?
Commercial routes are long. Forty feet covers a hallway or a hall from one outlet and means fewer cord swaps and fewer yanked plugs.
