Which SEBO Vacuum Is Right for You? A Guide to Avon's SEBO Lineup

SEBO lineup: FELIX Premium in Rosso, DART, AUTOMATIC X7 Premium in Graphite, AIRBELT K3 Premium in Pastel Mint, AIRBELT E3 Premium in Pastel Blue and AIRBELT D4 Premium in White

FELIX, DART, AUTOMATIC X or an AIRBELT canister? Match a SEBO to your floors, carpet, stairs and storage, then compare the models Avon carries.

SEBO builds its uprights and canisters on several platforms, so two machines at similar prices can clean in very different ways. The floor tool in the box decides how a vacuum treats carpet, rugs and hard floors. The body style decides how it handles stairs, furniture and storage. Cord length and bag size decide how often you stop.

Below, the SEBO vacuums Avon lists as of October 2026 are sorted by those differences, using SEBO America's published specifications. Each model links to its live product page for current price, colors and package.

Quick picks

  • Mostly hard floors, a few suitable rugs: AIRBELT E1 Kombi or K2 Kombi.
  • Hard floors plus rugs that benefit from some brushing: AIRBELT K2 Turbo, E2 Turbo or D1 Turbo.
  • Mixed floors with one upright: FELIX Premium.
  • Carpet and rugs with a canister: AIRBELT K3, E3 or D4 Premium, each with the ET-1 electric powerhead.
  • Mostly wall-to-wall carpet, upright preferred: AUTOMATIC X4, X4 Boost or X7 Premium, or the 15-inch X8 for open rooms.
  • Large home, long routes: AIRBELT D4 Premium or an AUTOMATIC X upright.
  • Quick pickups between full cleanings: BALANCE A1 cordless.

How do SEBO's models compare at a glance?

The biggest differences are the floor tools included and the reach. Body weights are SEBO's published figures; SEBO does not say whether a canister's figure includes the hose, wand or floor tool, and it lists the 12-inch ET-1 electric powerhead alone at 5.4 pounds.

FELIX or DART: which detachable upright?

The FELIX Premium and DART share a slim body, the 12-inch ET-1 electric powerhead with four manual height settings, 7029AM bags and a 31-foot cord. On both, the brush switches off with a button on the powerhead, the machine lies flat to a six-inch profile, and the suction unit lifts off the powerhead to work as a handheld vacuum on stairs and upholstery. Each includes a crevice nozzle and dusting brush.

FELIX Premium

Choose the FELIX when one upright has to handle hardwood, area rugs and carpet. It adds 180-degree steering, suction control on the handle, a three-position adjustable handle and a parquet brush for bare floors. Avon lists it in White (9808AM), Indigo (90814AM, shown as Blue) and Rosso (9809AM, shown as Red). If your stairs are long and frequent, compare a canister, which keeps the motor on a step while the wand does the reaching.

DART

The DART keeps the ET-1 and detachable unit but drops the swivel steering, adjustable suction and adjustable handle, and its parquet brush is optional. It suits a carpet-focused home where you rarely turn suction down. Stepping up to the FELIX buys those controls and the hard-floor brush.

AUTOMATIC X and ESSENTIAL G: uprights for carpet-heavy homes

These are traditional uprights: the head stays attached, an instant-use wand and hose give about eight feet of reach for edges and furniture, and three tools ride on board. All use 5093AM bags, hold a 1.4-gallon bag and have a 40-foot cord. SEBO offers HEPA filter options for both families.

The AUTOMATIC X models adjust brush height automatically. An electronic controller measures how hard the brush is working against the floor and raises or lowers the head, so you do not set heights by hand. SEBO covers their drive belts for life.

  • AUTOMATIC X4 (9570AM): the core 12-inch model.
  • AUTOMATIC X4 Boost (White 90506AM, Red 90505AM): adds a Boost button for deeper brush action on carpets and rugs.
  • AUTOMATIC X7 Premium (five colors): a brush-mode button for deeper brushing, plus an LED headlight.
  • AUTOMATIC X8 (91566AM): a 15-inch head with a 14.5-inch cleaning path and an LED headlight, but no brush-mode button. Measure furniture gaps before choosing the wider head.

The ESSENTIAL G4 (12-inch, Gray or Black) and G5 (15-inch) use the same upright layout with four-level manual height adjustment instead of automatic height, for buyers who prefer to set the height themselves.

Consider a FELIX or a canister instead if you have mostly hard floors or many stairs. These uprights weigh roughly 17 pounds and do not detach, though SEBO's optional nine-foot extension hose extends the hose for stairs. Avon also sells SEBO's 300 and 350 MECHANICAL, which SEBO describes as commercial-grade, so they are outside this home-focused guide.

AIRBELT K, E and D canisters: same idea, three sizes

Every AIRBELT canister has a cushioned bumper, three on-board tools, a 7-foot hose and a full-bag or clog indicator. Within each family, the model name tells you what cleans the floor:

  • Kombi: a combination nozzle with retractable bristles. Suction only, with no rotating brush.
  • Turbo: an air-driven turbo head for rugs, plus a parquet brush. Airflow turns the roller; it has no motor of its own.
  • Premium: the 12-inch ET-1 electric powerhead plus a parquet brush, with a hose and wand wired to power it and suction and brush controls on the handle.

Decide on the head before you buy. SEBO states that the Kombi and Turbo hoses and wands have no integrated power cord, so they cannot run an electric powerhead later. Their suction knob sits on the canister body.

AIRBELT K: mid-size, with a HEPA option

The K2 Kombi (9679AM), K2 Turbo (9678AM) and K3 Premium (five colors) have a 25-foot cord, a 37-foot cleaning radius, a 0.8-gallon bag and a tug-and-retract cord rewind. The K3's handle has a suction slider and a brush on/off switch. The K family is the only AIRBELT line with an optional HEPA filter.

AIRBELT E: mid-size, lightest body

The E1 Kombi (91602AM), E2 Turbo (91620AM) and E3 Premium (six colors) match the K models' reach. Compared with the K, the E has a lighter 11.4-pound body, a larger 0.92-gallon bag and a push-button cord rewind, but no HEPA option. Our E1 vs. E2 vs. E3 floorhead guide compares the three heads in detail.

AIRBELT D: full-size reach

The D1 Turbo (90604AM) and D4 Premium (White, 90941AM) step up to a 40-foot cord, a 52-foot cleaning radius and a 1.5-gallon bag, so you change outlets and bags less often. The D4 adds soft-touch suction buttons, a brush switch on the handle and a light on the canister that shows the suction level. The tradeoff is size: SEBO says the K and E bodies weigh about four pounds less.

Cord lengths in feet, as listed by SEBO America.

FELIX and DART uprights31 ft
AIRBELT D canisters40 ft

A canister's hose and wand add reach beyond the cord: SEBO lists a 37-foot cleaning radius for the K and E families and 52 feet for the D family.

Where does the BALANCE A1 fit?

The BALANCE A1 is SEBO's cordless, bagless stick vacuum. SEBO lists it at five pounds, with three power levels and up to 48 minutes of runtime on the lowest level or up to 20 minutes on the highest. The kit includes an LED power brush with two interchangeable rollers, a mini power brush, an LED crevice nozzle and a wall-mount station. It suits quick floor and stair pickups. If it would be your only vacuum, compare its runtime and bin with how much floor you clean. Our BALANCE A1 vs. Miele Triflex comparison covers it in depth.

Which SEBO fits your home?

  • Mostly hard floors: an AIRBELT Kombi is the simplest match. For a few rugs that benefit from brushing, a Turbo model adds an air-driven head and a separate parquet brush.
  • Mixed hard floors and rugs: the FELIX Premium if you prefer an upright, or the K3 or E3 Premium for a canister. All three include the ET-1 and a parquet brush, and the ET-1's brush can be switched off.
  • Substantial wall-to-wall carpet: an AUTOMATIC X upright, or a Premium canister if you also clean stairs and upholstery often.
  • Pet hair: hair works into carpet and rugs, so prioritize a powered brush roll: an ET-1 model or an AUTOMATIC X. Plan to clear wrapped hair from the brush roller as the manual directs.
  • Stairs: a canister lets the wand reach each step while the body rests on a stable step or landing. The FELIX and DART lift off their powerhead to work as handhelds.
  • Larger homes: the D4 Premium or an AUTOMATIC X, both with a 40-foot cord and a larger bag than the mid-size models.
  • Smaller storage spaces: the FELIX and DART stand as slim uprights. A K or E canister needs room for the body plus the wand and floor tool.
  • You already prefer an upright or a canister: start with that style. SEBO's own buying advice is to stay with the style you already use.

Brush controls and delicate rugs

With special floors, the controls on the floor tool matter more than the model name. SEBO's heads work in four ways:

  • Combination nozzles (Kombi models) clean by suction alone. Set the retractable bristles for the floor you are on.
  • Air-driven turbo heads (Turbo models) spin whenever air flows through them. Switch to the parquet brush where brushing is not wanted.
  • The ET-1 (FELIX, DART and Premium canisters) has four manual height settings, and its brush can be switched off, with a button on the powerhead of the FELIX and DART or a switch on the Premium canisters' handle, so it can also clean by suction alone.
  • AUTOMATIC X heads set their own height, and the X4 Boost and X7 Premium buttons allow deeper brushing. SEBO does not list a brush on/off switch for these models, so use the hose tools on a rug that must not be brushed.
SEBO ET-1 electric powerhead with its four-level brush height dial
The ET-1's four-level dial sets how deeply the brush reaches into carpet. Suction and brush on/off are separate controls.

No vacuum is safe for every delicate, wool, high-pile or washable rug. Rug makers set their own rules: some forbid rotating brushes, some ask for suction only, and fringe can catch in any brush. Read the care label, then match it to the exact head and setting: brush off or a suction-only tool, reduced suction and the right height. If there is no label, ask the rug's maker or seller. SEBO's soft-bristle roller (5010GE) for the 12-inch ET-1 does not override a no-brush instruction. Our guide to vacuum features that can damage delicate rugs explains what to check before you start.

Bags, filters, warranty and ownership costs

Every corded SEBO here uses a disposable filter bag, a pre-motor filter and an exhaust filter. SEBO describes this as S-class filtration. S-class and HEPA are different standards, so do not treat them as the same thing. SEBO offers HEPA filters for the AUTOMATIC X, ESSENTIAL G and AIRBELT K families. It lists no HEPA option for the FELIX, DART, AIRBELT E or AIRBELT D.

Bags are specific to each family, so note your model before reordering:

  • FELIX and DART: 7029AM
  • AUTOMATIC X and ESSENTIAL G: 5093AM
  • AIRBELT K: 6629AM
  • AIRBELT E: 8300AM
  • AIRBELT D: 8120AM

Plan on bags as the main running cost, with filters replaced as the manual directs and brush rollers replaced as they wear. SEBO's service boxes bundle eight bags with replacement filters for several families. Prices change, so check current costs in our SEBO bags and filters collection, and confirm the right box with our SEBO bags by part number guide.

Warranty, and why buying from a Medalist dealer matters

SEBO's residential warranty covers motors for seven years and parts and labor for five, with lifetime drive belts on the AUTOMATIC X. Avon Vacuums is an authorized SEBO dealer and a SEBO Medalist dealer, so through SEBO's Warranty Bonus, eligible models bought from us and registered online with our dealer code receive 10 years on the motor, 10 years on non-wear parts and 7 years of labor. We can provide the dealer code you need to register.

The bonus does not apply to SEBO vacuums bought from third-party marketplace sites, and the BALANCE A1 is excluded from both the standard terms and the bonus. Wear parts, washed filters and reused bags are not covered. Ask us to confirm that your model qualifies before you buy. Our guide to buying SEBO vacuums from an authorized Connecticut dealer covers what to test in the store and how warranty, parts and service work after the sale.

SEBO buying checklist

  1. List every floor and rug, with care labels for anything delicate.
  2. Decide whether you need a powered brush roll. If yes, choose an ET-1 model or an AUTOMATIC X.
  3. Trace your cleaning route. Count staircases and measure your longest run from an outlet.
  4. Measure storage, including room for a canister's wand and floor tool.
  5. Consider who carries it. Compare body weights and how each style handles stairs.
  6. Confirm the exact package on the product page: model number, color, floor tools and on-board tools.
  7. Note the bag and filter numbers so replacements are easy to reorder.
  8. Register the warranty with SEBO after purchase, using our Medalist dealer code for the Warranty Bonus on eligible models.

SEBO lineup questions

Is a SEBO upright or canister better for stairs?

A canister is usually easier, because the body rests on a stable step or landing while the wand reaches each tread. The FELIX and DART lift off their powerhead to work as handhelds. The AUTOMATIC X and ESSENTIAL G have a hose and wand but do not detach.

Can I add an electric powerhead to a Kombi or Turbo canister later?

No. SEBO states that the Kombi and Turbo hoses and wands have no integrated power cord, so they cannot run an ET-1. Choose a Premium model if you want a powered brush roll in a canister.

What is the difference between the FELIX and the DART?

They share the ET-1 powerhead, bags, cord length and detachable suction unit. The FELIX Premium adds 180-degree steering, adjustable suction, an adjustable handle and an included parquet brush.

Does S-class filtration mean HEPA?

No. They are different filter standards. SEBO's standard filtration is S-class, and HEPA filters are available only for certain families, such as the AUTOMATIC X, ESSENTIAL G and AIRBELT K.

Do I get SEBO's 10-year Warranty Bonus when I buy from Avon?

On eligible models, yes. Avon Vacuums is a SEBO Medalist dealer, so you can register your new SEBO online with our dealer code for 10 years on the motor, 10 years on non-wear parts and 7 years of labor. The BALANCE A1 is not eligible, and purchases from third-party marketplace sites do not qualify.

Can I try a SEBO before buying?

Call our Avon shop to ask which SEBO models are set up to try. The display selection changes, so check before you make the trip.
