What comes with the SR38

• SR38 central vacuum power unit with its collection canister and supplied disposable collection bag.
• Wall mounting bracket supplied with the power unit.

The hose, carpet powerhead, floor tools, building inlets, piping and installation materials are separate. This listing is for the power unit rather than a complete installed cleaning system.

Installation and cleaning setup

Connect to a grounded 120-volt supply with the outlet and circuit matched to the unit’s rating plate. Voltage alone does not establish that an existing circuit is adequate. VacuMaid lists a maximum current of 14.5 amps for this model. Allow at least the manual’s six-inch clearance from surrounding surfaces, plus working room to service the collection container. Secure the bracket to suitable structure and connect the vacuum piping and low-voltage inlet wiring as directed.

A compatible hose and the building’s low-voltage inlet circuit control central cleaning. Choose a powered carpet head or a suction floor brush according to the flooring and connect it through the correct hose system. The power-unit motor specifications alone do not establish how well a particular floorhead will move or clean.

The listed air watts, airflow and sealed water lift are different maximum motor measurements, not simultaneous readings at a cleaning tool. Pipe length, bends, leaks, filter condition and the selected hose change the performance available in use.

Bag changes and airflow care

The supplied standard bag uses replacement reference HPB1. VacuMaid also lists HPB2H as an optional HEPA-style bag; that option should not be mistaken for the standard supplied filtration.

Unplug before opening the canister. Slide the used bag’s gasket off the inlet stem, seal the opening with its flap and lift the bag out for disposal. Fully expand the replacement and seat its gasket in the stem groove, then reseal the lid. Keep the protector plate and safety screen in place beneath the bag.

Check weekly at first, and replace the bag promptly when dirt loading or restricted airflow calls for it. If a bag leaks, clean the affected screens as described in the manual before restarting. A large nominal capacity is not a reason to keep using a bag that has already restricted airflow.

Warranty and service

For eligible U.S. single-family residential installations, VacuMaid provides a lifetime limited warranty on the power-unit canister to the original owner, plus 10 years on the motor and internal electrical components. The canister term ends when the original owner no longer owns the system or the original building.

Commercial use has a 90-day term. Normal motor-brush wear, consumables, installation materials and installation work are excluded. Transportation and removal/reinstallation charges can remain the owner’s responsibility. Keep the purchase record and use authorized service for warranty work.
